Discover the luminous world of encaustic art — painting with molten beeswax, resins, and natural pigments.
Join artist Isabelle for a full-day Encaustic Painting Workshop in Dublin, Ireland, and experience one of the world’s oldest and most fascinating art forms in a fun, hands-on studio setting.

Whether you’re an absolute beginner or a developing artist, this workshop will spark your creativity and introduce you to the expressive potential of encaustics — a medium that celebrates texture, depth, and colour.

About the Workshop

During this immersive, day-long class, you’ll learn the fundamentals of encaustic painting, from studio setup and safety to creating layered, textured artworks using molten beeswax and pigment.

Under Isabelle’s guidance, you’ll explore:

  • Basic encaustic techniques: layering, fusing, and building texture

  • Safe studio practices and proper use of heat tools

  • Creating translucent and opaque effects

  • Mark-making: incising, etching, sgraffito, and scraping

  • Textural methods such as dripping, splattering, and relief work

  • Tips for achieving smooth or highly textured surfaces

By the end of the day, you’ll leave with your own beautiful encaustic artwork — and the confidence to continue exploring this versatile, ancient art form.
