Description

Immersion into Encaustic Painting, A One-Day Hands-On Workshop in Galway

Saturday 10th October 2026 | 9:30am – 3:30pm

Limited places available – small group experience

Step into the world of molten wax painting

Discover the magic of encaustic painting — an ancient, expressive technique using heated pigmented beeswax and layered mark-making.

In this immersive one-day workshop, you’ll be guided step-by-step through the process of creating luminous, textured artworks you simply can’t achieve with traditional paint.

No experience needed. Just curiosity and a willingness to experiment.

What makes this workshop special

This is not a demonstration you watch from a distance.

It’s a fully hands-on creative experience where you will:

  • Work directly with molten wax and professional encaustic materials
  • Learn intuitive layering and texturing techniques
  • Create multiple finished encaustic artworks
  • Explore a relaxed, experimental approach to image-making
  • Receive personal guidance throughout the day

By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with finished pieces and a clear understanding of how to continue at home.
