Description of the week end immersion into encaustic painting

Are you art enthusiast wanting to discover a new versatile painting process in an intimate studio setting and a beautiful location? Do you want to recharge your creative batteries and create beautiful atmospheric artwork and embellish them using a wide range of techniques in a relax and inspiring environment?

I invite you to spend the week-end on the edge of  the stunningly beautiful location which is  the Burren National Park which has been the main source of inspiration for my encaustic artworks and discover the art of encaustic painting, an ancient painting process using molten beeswax, resins and natural pigments.

Imagine being surrounded by the rocky  limestones landscape, the hazel groves and the turloughs where the light,  clouds and mist fight for dominance and offers an amazing palette in full display.

All year round, he moon-like landscape made out of cool grey rock etched with crevices and cracks tumbles down to the wild blue Atlantic Ocean would take your breath away bye its sheer wilderness and beauty .

This  barren limestone landscape  has captivated the hearts and soul of poets, painters, artists and writers for a very long time. I can certainly count myself among them. The Burren took my heart many years ago and I have made it my chosen inspiration for my own work.

This two day workshop in Kinvara, a picturesque coastal village nestled on the shores of Galway Bay right at the edge of the Burren, with views over the Sea and mountains, is the perfect opportunity to take two days for yourself, to focus on your work, and take it to the next level. During the workshops, participants will be exposed to basic, intermediate and advanced techniques in working with encaustic medium. Whether you come with a project in mind or a blank canvas, you will find support and input, from like minded people, while being given all the skills you need for creative growth. Allow the light filled ruggedness of the Burren to inspire and generates new visions, while taking the opportunity to meet fellow artists.

We will share what inspire us and you will be shown you different ways to translate it into your artworks.

Soak in the landscape, refresh and create!
